DAY TWO - Remember who you are praying to

Read Jeremiah 32:17-44

Key Verse “Ah, Lord God! You Yourself made the heavens and earth by Your great power and with Your outstretched arm. Nothing is too difficult for You!” Jeremiah 32:17

Sometimes we forget how powerful God is. We forget the great things that He has done in the past. We forget how awesome He really is.  With God all things are possible...but do you believe it? Jeremiah is building a case for God, he reminds us that everything in the universe was created by none other than...HIM.  He made everything from nothing, just by the power of his Word.  In our prayers, do we realize how powerful God is?  Do we remember that He can do anything he wants to? There is absolutely nothing that is too hard for God.  Why not ask GOD for big things?

Too often allow the immensity of our own problems and challenges to overshadow the greatness of our God. Our view of God diminishes to an anemic, powerless God. In our desire to get rid of problems we often so focus on ourselves...our lives become the center...our condition the worst.  The scripture says that HE must become greater, I must become less.  When we focus on ourselves, that principle seems to be reversed...we become greater.  Our prayers can only be answered by a God who is greater than ourselves.  In your prayers, magnify the Lord, lift him up, make Him great.  Remember who the Creator is, and who the creature is.  And trust him.  If he can take care of the entire universe, he can take care of you.  Trust His power, His timing, His love for you.

Creation itself is a testimony to the fact that God can do anything. Creation was just the beginning of God’s mighty display of power. Jeremiah reminds us that this same God led His people out of Egypt with signs and wonders (verse 21). As we read the Scripture, we are reminded that this same God sent Jesus to be born of a virgin, live a sinless life, die on a cross for our sins, and be raised to life on the third day. Only God could do that! The death, burial and resurrection of Jesus is a reminder that God can do anything. Have you forgotten God’s ability to do anything? Remember the great things He has done in your life personally. Remember the great things He has done in your church. Thank him for all he has done.  Exalt him in your heart and life.  Lift him up and he will draw all men to himself.

Heavenly Father, we thank you for all the wonderful marvelous things you have done in our lives. Help me to remember that you are all powerful, all loving, all merciful, and that you are in control of everything.  Give us eyes of faith to see your Hand at work when all around us it seems evil is so real. Make yourself more real to us.  Fill our church with awe in your presence.  Use us to remind people that you are the answer...the answer to all the worlds problems.  AMEN.
